Bayern Munich won’t ‘get carried away’ by their 8-2 victory over Barcelona at the quarter-finals stage of the Champions League.
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic insist that the Balvarian giants will remain grounded even though they defeated Barcelona last night and will be preparing for their semi final game which might be against Manchester City or Lyon.
Salihamidzic told UEFA.com “We started well, even with the silly equaliser. The first half was crazy, it felt like every shot was a goal. It’s special to beat a team like Barcelona like that, but we’re not going to get carried away by the scoreline; we’re really happy, but we want more,”
Bayern Munich Manager Hansi Flick
“We knew that if we put them under pressure, we would get chances. We have such quality and intensity in this team, now we need to recharge and focus on the next game, where we start again from zero”.
Hansi Flick was made interim manager in November 6 2019 after Niko Kovac the Bayern Munich then left the club by mutual consent.
Flick was made the permanent manager December 22 2019 till the remainder of the season and have now transformed the Bayern Munich team.
Bayern Munich remain the only team to win all their Champions League matches this season, They have scored 39 goals which is the highest by any team in this season campaign and have only conceded 8 goals.
Bayern Munich are now clear favorite to win the Champions League, but must first win their semi final match which might be against Manchester city or Lyon on August 19.
