Werder Bremen have completed the signing of Tahith Chong on loan from Manchester United, this is according to Weser Kurier.
Both clubs are understood to have agreed for the loan move of the 20-year-old Dutch winger with an option not to buy.
Bild reported on Saturday that both parties are deciding how Chong’s salary will be paid.
Chong have already trained with the Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on Sunday ahead of his loan move.
The Dutchman received permission from the Red Devils to train with Bremen despite the loan move yet to be official. Final details are still being clarified but it’s expected that Chong will join Florian Kohfeldt’s Bremen imminently.
Chong have been touted as a replacement for Milot Rashica, who seems to be on his way out of the club with RB Leipzig showing interest in the 24-year-old Kosovo winger.
Werder Bremen Sporting Director Frank Baumann feels its hard to compare both wingers, Baumann spoke to Wesser Kurier saying “He plays a very similar position. Nevertheless, he is a different type of player. He is not one-to-one comparable to Milot”.
The 20-year-old made 16 appearance for Manchester United first team, making two assist.
