Arsenal are willing to capture Lyon’s midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer according to reports from L’Equipe.
Lyon’s technical director Juninho confirmed after last night’s defeat to Bayern Munich that the club would listen to offers for some of the club’s key players including Houssem Aouar and Dembele. And L’Équipe has reported that Arsenal has already made a bid of Mattéo Guendouzi + cash for the Aouar which Lyon is yet to accept or reject at the moment.
The 22 years old came through Lyon’s famous academy and has made over 97 appearances in all competitions since making his first team debut in February 2017. The French born midfielder is a typical modern day and energetic attacking player who has the ability to effect the game in the opponents half and always willing to track back to help his team defensively.
Lyon will not take part in any European club competition next season having finished the league on 9th position in the table. This is the first time that the club won’t be taking part in an European club competition since 1996. The club is finicially restricted at the moment and that is the reason they want to cash in on some of their key players.
Lyon will demand a fee in the region of €40m for Houssem Aouar and Arsenal is willing to meet their demands to bring the 22 years old to the Emirates this summer as Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Aouar.
