Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli who has been out since last season with a knee injury has speaken to the club’s official website to give an update on his injury.
In his words he has this to say
“I’m feeling very well, I’m regaining confidence and I can feel my knee is better,” he said. After an injury like this you are kind of scared to force the knee again but the past couple of weeks it has been fine and soon I can start training with the ball.
On expectations this season he says:
“I think we have an excellent squad and along with Mikel’s forward thinking and winning mentality we can carry on doing well. We are playing well and training well, everyone wants to win and we are all giving everything. I believe this season is very promising. We won trophies last season and I believe we can win this season again and also qualify for the Champions League.
The 19-year-old attacker joined Arsenal last season from Brazilian 4th division club Ituano for a fee of around €10m. He was initially planned to link up with the U23 side of the North London club, but after an impressive performance in last season’s pre-season games he was immediately drafted to the first team squad. He made a total of 14 appearances in the Premier league and scoring a total of 3 goals before he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
